AADHAVAN -- Unimposing...............

Saw KS Ravikumaars Aadhavan.Though i have loved watching some of the energy filled tamil mass films ,i have not at all been amused by the latest of Tamil mass films from Vijay,Vikram and even Ayan from Surya .Once I preferred watching their big releases from theater but now since most of their recent releases were duds i decided not to throw in for all and be selective.Suryas movies had always given me a minimum guarentee or i could say atleast the probability of it being nonsense was pretty low.It was this that urged me to Theatre for Aadhavan.Well ,i should say my judgement went wrong.

Surya is a highly skilled professional killer and............. he gets a Quotation to kill a judge who is heading an enquiry commission.Unable to succeed in his first attempt he manges to get into his house as a housekeeper. The twists and turns that follow constitute the rest of the movie.

The first half is made pretty watchable by the as usual charming Surya, comedy numbers from Vadivelu(one of his better of recent times) and the colourful frames and songs.Nayantaara as usual has a typical brainless mass film heroine role (reminded me of her role in Villu).Surya was cool in the stunt scenes, with one of them being extremely similar to the 1st stunt scene in Ayan with a lot of running and chasing.I would still say that they could have reduced the gap between the buildings that Surya Jump to.The second half of the movie does really put a test on your patience as songs are embedded in quite frequently and unnecessarily. The twists that they present in the second would make a buffoon out of the viewer.Murali the late veteran actor has Just another role with very less to perform. Finally after all the the baangs booms when you feel that you are about to survive out of the hall here comes KS Ravikumaars cameo.(A guy was also with him-is that his son??)The words in the braces do not matter much as they both irritates you to the core.It is like you finally being given a hefty bill for a loathsome lunch.
one or two of the songs were impressive.

Over all i would call it average and there are definitely more far better ways to celebrate Diwali.......Avoidable....
