Gulumaal -- Slapstick Package

Gulumaal Movie Review

V K Prakash has tried it all,be it romance (mullavallyum thenmaavum),action (Police),Horror (3aamathoraal)and investigation based suspense thriller (positive). Now its the turn to try out a movie with a lighter mood. Most of the VKP products had kept their minimum standards though i am not sure if any of the previous were profitable in the BO.Gulumaal will certainly ............. ensure that majority of viewers would come out of the theatres content enough just because it almost delivers what it promised .

Gulumal is a plot all based on the bluffers dwelling in the hearts of the Kochi City.Jerry(Jayasurya) and Ravi Varma(Kunchakko Boban) are two frauds in the field. While Jerry is a born crook ,Ravi is drawn to this purely due to his insecure backgrounds.Together they happen to fix a deal for a fake 'Ravi Varma painting' with a rich NRI.Though they execute the plot together ,both consciously try to eliminate the other to solely take advantage of the deal.Jerry's sister Sera (Mitra Kurien) is aware of her brother's foul plays and is herself a victim of Jerry's tricks. With lots of wits and tit for tats in the plot VKP manages to execute the rest of the stuff without boring you.

Jayasurya perfectly comply to the fraud in the form of Jerry while Kunchakko makes notable comeback not only with the ease at which he handles the various faces of Ravi Varma but also with his new charming look.Suraj and Bijukuttan mostly take care of the comic plot with Anti Terrorist Squad characters, though many a times they looks directly absorbed from a mimicry stage.Mitra Kurien looked well organised in her role of Sera .Devan,Nedumudi,Salim Kumar does nothing different from thier routine stuffs but dwells well within the movie. In an effort to come up with fast trendy numbers with loud beats and rap ,the Music has been letdown.Though unreal and inspired from movies like bluffmaster, VKP has managed to tell the story without giving the viewer any time to think of the feasibility side.Shot simultaneously with 2 HD cams ,each frame of Gulumal also has the typical VKP effect.

If you love brainless entertainers watching Gulumaal wont be a Waste for sure.Undoubtedly Gulumaal will do the best business among VKP films released so far.
